Last Reflection

This was an interesting project that I feel like I learned more then I did before. I know I could've done more though. I still had fun with it though. When I do my presentation I want my classmates to understand that this is a scary topic and a very important topic that people need to understand about. Hopefully people will do something about it now when they see it happening or will go and tell someone.
I kind of want to keep up with the whole blog post and still do more research about it. Hopefully I get to do the video that I wanted to do. I'm hoping the number of students that are missing school everyday goes down because that number is just way too big! I had fun with this project and learned a lot with it too.

Reflection 05/02/16

"Every day in America, more than 160,000 children miss school out of fear of being bullied, according to National Education Association estimates. It happens everywhere, at all times to the most vulnerable of kids, especially those who are obese, gay or have a disability." Once again, bullying happens all day every day and it could happen to anybody. Bullying is a horrible thing to do and is the worst thing to have to go through. It is also said that suicide is third leading cause of death among younger people, "10 to 14 year old girls may be at even higher risk for suicide."
The only thing I am having trouble with is posting my interview right now, still. I'm confused on the whole ted-talk stuff? We have to make a ted-talk video or we have look a ted-talk video up? That's the only thing that's holding me back and getting tossed up on.

Reflection 04/25/16

There was just recently another bullying incident that had happened just last week two girls were arrested after a video was posted on social media. Two girls were arguing at the park and one of them was threatening the other if she didn't kiss her feet! Then the other girl had came up and was recording the whole thing then later was posted online. The teen who posted it got arrested, and the bully was arrested and was charged with assault and extortion by threats. "Ponca City police said the investigation is ongoing and the two girls’ cases will go before the Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs."
I still just need to post my interview and then do the reflection based on the interview, hopefully I can post it next Monday when we come back in to the computer lab. I think I'm just about done just want people to be aware of bullying and that it goes on everyday even though you may not see it still goes on.

Weekly Reflection 04/18/16

I had done some research and found out that "suicide is the third leading cause of death according to the Center for Disease Control. It results in about 4,400 deaths per year. Bullied victims are 7 to 9% more likely to consider suicide according to a study by Yale University." I've also noticed that a lot of the kids that get bullied and commit suicide are kids between the ages 11-12. That's a major thing that people need to consider and need to realize that bullying is not okay. I haven't done my interview pero I have posted my interview questions on their own page and waiting for those to get graded.
I feel like I'm learning more about bullying and stuff but I guess I really want to know why people do it in the first place? Like how could you do that to someone and put someone through that kind of situation? That's what I'm really trying to figure out. I want to get done with the interview by this weekend, hopefully and post it. I get confused with how post to it from your phone to the computer?

Reflection 04/11/16

I'm behind right now because I thought I did my interview questions but I did them wrong? I thought what I was asking were the questions but they turned out to be the project questions. I also still need to do my pitch which I'm having trouble with because I don't know how to upload it to my page. I also don't a computer at home for me to have access to. This project is a tricky one and gets confusing at times.
I just finished my interview questions right now and posted them, waiting for them to get approved so I can go and do my interview. Hopefully this week I can do my pitch and upload it to my page. For the interview could it be a recording or does it have to be an actual video? I know I'm really behind but hopefully I can get back up there.

Relection 03/28/16

Over spring break  I didn't have to time to make the video I wanted to make because I was working and babysitting all break. The video I wanted to make was someone getting bullied and then having multiple people walk by and not doing anything about and then have one of a person getting bullied and having someone stand up or go and tell someone what's going on, to show the right and wrongs to do when you see it happening or see it going on. I did write down my interview questions that I want to ask.
I plan on having the elevator pitch done by next week and I'm trying to get the video done as soon as possible. I still just need to find a couple of more people to help be in the video and then I can get started. The picture shows what I want to do in my video and how to act when you see it happening or a way you could take action when you see it. Bullying should never tolerated and that's when taking a stand/action comes in.

Cyber bullying 🚫

"Cyber bullying is related to low self-esteem, suicidal ideation, anger, frustration, and a variety of other emotional and psychological problems." Traditional bullying and cyber bullying are similar because people who are "bullied at school are bullied online and those who bully at school bully online . " If you ever see anyone getting cyber bullied you should do something about it right away, go and tell an adult!
This is one of the main uses of bullying that goes on now and days. If you see it on the internet or on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter etc.  there are safety centers on the websites. Threats of violence, child pornography or sending sexually messages or photos, taking a photo or video of someone in a place where he or she would expect privacy and/ or stalking and hate crimes you need to tell someone immediately!

Reflection

I'm falling behind a little because I haven't been here the last 4 times we were in the computer lab but I don think I'm picking up on it and starting to get it more then I was before because I was confused at first. I'm still sticking with the bullying because I know it's something that I for sure passionate about and something that people could learn more of and that's what I'm trying to do as well. I plan on making a video over spring break about someone getting bullied and there being ways that you could stop it and doing an interview on people seeing if they have ever been bullied before and if they have how did that make them feel.
When we come back from Spring Break I plan on being pretty far into it, well at least then I am now.
